Plate Flaw variety
- If you look at the bottom of the stamp, there is an area of missing color over the letter "N" in PENCE. This is not ink that has been scraped away since part of the postmark is on top of the blank area. I have looked at this under 30x magnification and the paper is intact in this area.
- Most likely this is a printing plate flaw or perhaps a piece of foreign matter was temporarily stuck to the printing plate. See scan and close-up scan for more details.

2) Insurance and/or Registration fees are additional if desired. In some cases, indemnity up to $100 is provided if I utilize DHL for shipping (only within the continental USA).
3) Certain philatelic items may be covered by private insurance which is less expensive than the US Postal Service option, but it is only available if the items are worth over $50.00. I will inform you if private insurance is available, and your additional cost for this service.
4) If the item(s) are sent uninsured, then I can accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of the items once they are in the hands of the Postal Service and/or shipping company.
5) Uninsured items are shipped solely at the buyer's risk.
6) Unfortunately insurance for shipments to certain foreign destinations may not be available at all, and the items will still be shipped at the buyer's risk; please ask prior to bidding if insurance options are available for shipments to your country and whether you are willing to accept the risk of having items sent without insurance. Generally I will obtain a mailing receipt from the US Postal Service; this however only provides proof that I mailed the item.
7) PayPal is the preferred payment method. In some cases I can accept checks (business or personal) or money orders. Checks & and money orders have to be drawn on a US Bank and with US Bank routing codes). Due to expensive bank charges of up to $40.00, I can NOT accept foreign checks of any kind. Please allow up to 7 days for personal or business checks to clear. Basically, checks and money orders will delay shipping of your item.
8) I can accept VISA, MasterCard and other credit card payments only via the "PayPal" payment service (https://www.paypal.com).
9) Please do not bid if you do not intend on paying for the item. It wastes my time and yours; and you WILL end up being reported to eBay as a "non-paying bidder", something which may lead to suspension of your account or your expulsion from eBay.
